This is the lovely Amelia, shot outside using 35mm hp5 black and white film. For this project we were asked to shoot a random film to learn all about the process of scanning and cleaning up images.  I saw Amelia in the library at Uni and thought she had something about her, she very kindly agreed to model for me.

  1. It is a big deal around here just to find film and someone to develop it. There is something enchanting about B&W film, but I can’t see doing color film as good as digital has become.


  2. We are lucky to have access at Uni to a darkroom where we can develop and create prints from our black and white films. I agree there is something special about film, but the ease of use of digital, the instant gratification, the ability to quickly check the pictures, edit the image, as well as no ongoing processing costs, does seem to suggest that the future digital.
